Might have been the worst ribeye I have ever had.... it was my qifes birthday dinner and the 5 of us were expecting a grdat meal. In that past history of the Packinghouse it was always one of the elite places to dine. Well, several owners later and ugh.... My wife and her mother, daughter and sis-in-law all go the prime rib. ALL of them could hardly eat it! It was so tough we brought it home for our dogs. And my ribeye..... It was over 50% fat and gristle! I have been in the food business for 40 years and had some bad meals before, bit this steak, which they menu'd as choice angus, was absolutely terrible. I will say, the salad bar was excellent, so yes, thats why the two stars and not one.... the dinner for the five of us was over $250. Acceptable, when the meal is edible! This was not. I would not recommend the Packinghouse in Galesburg Illinois for anything other than a salad bar lunch. Sorry......

The salad bar was the only good thing about this experience. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and refills of drinks were never offered. We both ordered the prime rib.. I’m pretty sure I could get a better cut at Walmart. Very disappointing.

Just had a red ale drink here, yummy. Did walk around a bit to see the Safari room, which looks fun. Will have to visit again to head up to the open roof top to see what that is all about. It was a Saturday afternoon, place quiet with a few patrons.

Some of the best pizza in town. Really really good. I can't stress enough how good this pizza is. The employees are usually nice and considering the crap they have to take over the course of a shift from customers that's a big compliment. The customer's bad attitudes and behaviors are what drag the "atmosphere" down. Pizza makes it worth it, tho.

Gorgeous decor, always clean (bathrooms too! Big deal for us girls especially, shows attention to detail!), and most important… delicious food (especially the smoked chicken salad! I am ADDICTED! Also love the macaroni and potato salad!) Tons of blood, sweat, tears and HEART have gone into this place. Tania works her ass off for it, and it shows. My wife and I order once or twice a week. I have trouble walking, I use a cane and there are 2 young ladies that go out of their way to help all they can. If they see me coming in the back door they will run my sack to me. Today monday, the taller girl saw me trying to find a parking space and I found one and looked up and the other girl walked over and had my order in her hand for me. These two girls are always so polite and helpfull to me and wanted to say how great of employees these two are. They are amazing. All the people are always nice but these two are really helpfull to me. I'm 75 years old and have several mobility issues. Anyway, Thank you very much.

This is an excellent place to have a great meal. The food is great and they service is outstanding. It's always good to check the daily specials as they are also fantastic. Opie makes sure that you have a good meal and a good time.
