I came here alone for a late-night meal, and unfortunately, the experience left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.
When I arrived, I politely asked a staff member where I should sit. She told me that I could choose any available seat, so I simply picked the closest one.
About five minutes later, a female staff member approached me and asked how many people were dining. When I told her I was alone, she immediately instructed me to move to a designated seat for one person.
What made this particularly upsetting was that the restaurant was almost completely empty. It was late at night, there were plenty of available tables, and I had specifically asked where I was allowed to sit before choosing my seat.
I find this treatment incredibly disrespectful and unnecessary. If there was a seating policy, why wasn’t I informed of it in the first place? Why was I told I could sit anywhere, only to be asked to move simply because I was dining alone?
Are solo diners somehow less deserving of the same respect and hospitality as everyone else?
Dining alone should never make a customer feel embarrassed, unwelcome, or like an inconvenience.
I came here simply hoping to enjoy a peaceful late-night meal, but instead, I was left feeling singled out and disrespected.
Very disappointing customer service.
What made the experience even more frustrating was what I witnessed as I was leaving. I saw a staff member sitting alone and eating at a table near the entrance that could accommodate six or seven people.
So let me get this straight: a paying customer dining alone is asked to move to a single-person seat in an almost empty restaurant, yet a staff member can sit alone at a table meant for six or seven people?
Is this really how you treat your customers? Why is there such a double standard?
Are solo diners somehow less deserving of the same respect and hospitality as everyone else?
